Mary Clayborne-1st wife of John Clayborne

Thank you so much for the information provided by your website and Gedcom info. I have been trying to find records of Mary Sandlin Clayborne, first wife of John Clayborne who later married Roxzanna Bailiff around 1880. Mary was my 2nd great grandmother and she died in 1879 along with twin boys who died a few months later. I am also related to the John Clayborne and Roxzanna children. We have a lot of descendents out there. Mary was also the granddaughter of Morning Green, Cherokee Indian, female from North Carolina, wife of Randolph Sandlin. I am sure many of the Mary Sandlin and John Clayborne children have the dark eyes and skin as do many of my relatives. Thank you for helping me with this information.

Robert Bailiff (reply)

Martha Bailiff and Robert Bailiff relationship???

I am attempting to follow the Eaves and Bailiff connections of my ancestors. My 2nd great-grandparents were Jesse B. Eaves and Martha Bailiff; My 3rd great-grandparents were Graves Eaves and Margaret (often cited as Margaret Suttle although Janey Joyce in her newly-published book on the Eaves could not find evidence for the "Suttle" name). This Margaret (the widow of Graves) married Robert Bailiff (apparently these were second marriages for each). I was surprised when I found (in the GeneaNet program of the Bailiff Family Legacy website) that Martha Bailiff and Robert Bailiff were brother and sister (and Martha and Robert had a sister Mary who married John Eaves, the brother of Jesse B. Eaves). Though I suppose Martha, Mary, and Robert were brother and sisters, it does seem unusual for Robert to have married the mother-in-law of two of his sisters. Margaret Eaves, it seems, would have to be quite a bit older than Robert. Does anyone know if the Robert Bailiff who married the widowed Margaret Eaves was actually the brother to Martha Bailiff Eaves and Mary Bailiff Eaves> Such a marriage seems unusual to me. I will appreciate any help in untangling my Eaves and Bailiff connection. Thanks ahead of time for any response. Dallas Lacy (Arlington, TX)

Mrs. Randall Brumbelow

My grandfather's obituary (Olllie Bradford d. 1934 Sulphur Springs,Texas) lists Mrs. Randall Rumbelow of Grand Saline, Texas as a survivor. Could this be the wife of your Randall Rumbelow> My aunt's name is Elenor and perhaps nicknamed Billie. I did not know her and thought all my life she lived in Louisiana and could not remember her married name until I read it in the obituary.
I posted this message at klbandt@dtccom.net (Rootsweb>) and then saw another address and covered both bases.
